There may not be an Award for the Best Supporting Artists during award season

At Universal Extras, we have been lucky enough to work on some of the best Films and TV over the last 13 years. During Award Season we see the hard work of these Productions paying off with them taking home the awards to prove it. There may not be an award for the Best Supporting Artists, but your hard work goes a long way to making them look so spectacular. Are you an Award-Winning Extra? Let’s find out!

So, which productions have our award-winning SAs been featured in?

The Favourite

Set in the early 18th century, a frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) sits on the throne, the country is at war with France but the queen’s household are still enjoying the finer things in life. As new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives the queen’s close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) takes the girl under her wing and Abigail starts plotting her way back to her aristocratic roots.

The Favourite has been a runaway success with 42 nominations across the 5 ceremonies!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Following a college student and baggage handler Farrokh Bulsara as he joins a local band and together they become the legendary Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) and the epic rock band, Queen. The film sees the boys rise to fame and Freddie deals with his personal life.

Over this award season, Rami Malek has received much recognition for his touching and challenging portrait of the man himself, with the Sound and Design teams taking home awards for their amazing recreation of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Mary Poppins Returns

Disney’s classic Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) is back when the Banks children (Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) need her to bring more magic into their now tragedy-stricken lives. Although the children may have grown up it’s down to an all-star cast (Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, and Dick Van Dyke) to bring happiness to the next generation of Banks children.

This award season Mary Poppins Returns has brought magic to the judges with its original music, eye-catching production design, and stunning visual effects.

Mary Queen of Scots

For our second award-winning Mary, Mary Queen of Scots follows Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan) as she finds herself a young widow returning to her native Scotland. When she tries to overthrow her cousin Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie), Queen of England, Mary finds herself condemned to prison and death.

Costume and Makeup take the center stage at the awards for their beautiful, historical artwork.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is in trouble again. After a mission goes wrong, Hunt and his team are in a race against time to clear their names and bring the bad guys to justice.

Visual Effects, Editing and Action sequences make this movie the high octane choice this award season.
