Get summer ready with UVE! Summer is peak production season

The sun has got its hat on and it’s finally starting to feel a bit more summer-like in the UK! The birds are chirping, the sky is blue and the ice cream van is calling. While it feels like summer has been a long time coming, things have certainly been heating up at Uni-versal Extras over the last few months! With one of our busiest periods of the year fast approaching, we thought we’d make sure our Supporting Artists are well prepared for the season ahead!

Summer Time is Almost Here!

We don’t need to tell you what a strange year 2020 was; it meant that many of our productions had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. So, as the UK begins to return to some sort of normality, we’re determined to make summer 2021 one to remember! The summer season is normally one of our busiest times of the year as its peak filming season for lots of major productions. There’s always a sense of excitement walking around the studios here at Pinewood, and that only seems to be magnified when the sun makes an appearance!

We’re receiving lots of new roles through our doors and we are super excited to provide you with plenty of fresh Supporting Artist opportunities for the months ahead. We hard at work booking in for roles and providing casting support in our mighty UVE way! So, we want to help make sure that you’re ready for the summer season ahead!

Make sure that your Profile Information is up-to-date

Ensuring that your profile is as up-to-date as possible is one of the best ways that you can prepare for future roles. Have you learned a new skill during lockdown? Have you moved house? Gained any new supporting artist experience whilst on set recently? Let us know by adding all your new details to your profile. Don’t forget to make sure that your contact and payment details are also correct. Not providing us with your current contact details could mean that you risk missing out on new casting opportunities.

Upload New Profile Pictures

Whilst you’re updating your profile information, why not take some time to make sure that your profile pictures are up-to-date as well? If you’ve had a new haircut recently, or have had a change to your appearance you need to make sure that the pictures on your profile reflect that. Out of date pictures can cause real issues when it comes to casting; if you turn up on set looking different to your profile pictures, you may risk being turned away.

Your profile pictures can be uploaded straight from your phone using the exclusive UVE Artiste app. Just snap your pictures and upload them directly to your profile ready for approval. Remember, your profiles pictures need to be taken in front of a plain background with no distractions. Light switches, shelves and skirting boards are all classed as distractions. If the sun is shining, you can always head outside to take your profile pictures, just make sure that you find a plain, brick wall to stand in front of. If you want to know more about how to take perfect profile pictures, be sure to read our previous guide.
