We want to know about your Unique Skills!

Posted by: Rebecca on Thursday 19th August 2021

No two people are the same; we all have different hobbies and abilities, and the same goes for Extras! At UVE, we’re incredibly proud to have such a diverse and unique database of Supporting Artists on our books. Do you have a rare talent that you’ve been keeping quiet, like tightrope walking or camel riding? Or maybe you’re an avid knitter or a painter? Whatever it is, we’d love to know about it!

Why adding your skills to your profile can really pay off!

We get lots of random and sometimes odd requests from all types of productions! We’ve been asked to cast artists with every skill imaginable, whether that be fire eating or embroidery, sky diving or dog handling; it’s safe to say that no job requirements surprise us anymore. In fact, we love casting for the wackier roles! If you have a skill, even if you feel it’s one that wouldn’t necessarily land you a role, add it to your profile! You never know, owning your special skill may just pay off!

Productions sometimes require Supporting Artists with a specific skill set in order to create a sense of authenticity. For example, for a bar tending role, they may prefer to cast someone who has bar tending experience. Or if the role is for a florist, they may require an Extra with flower arrangement skills. No matter how irrelevant you feel your skills may be, it’s so worth adding them to your profile. It may make you stand out from the crowd and land you the role!

Including your special skills on your profile means that we can easily decide if you’re suited to specific roles. Your profile is there to reflect you and your individuality, you can make it your own! The easiest and most convenient way to update your profile is through the exclusive UVE Artistes app, available for free on The App Store and Google Play. Download it today and fill your profile with all your amazing unique qualities!

And it’s not just skills we’re after, we also look for unique qualities in appearances for doubling roles. We’re often asked to match actors with our Extras who are sometimes required to have a particular scar or tattoo to fill the role. Make sure to include any notable features in your UVE profile because you never know, you may be just the Supporting Artist we’ll be looking for!

Have you got any special skills? We’d love to hear about them! Be sure to add them to your profile via the UVE Artiste App or through our website. What’s your super obscure skills? Let us know the comments below!
